I had a mixed experience at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The hotel itself is visually stunning with a gorgeous lobby and well-appointed rooms. Unfortunately, soundproofing issues greatly impacted my stay, as I could hear conversations and noises from neighboring rooms. Additionally, the pool experience was less than enjoyable due to overcrowding and poor service, although the lazy river itself was beautiful and appealing.
Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and clean, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a fantastic view of the ballpark. However, the lack of soundproofing made it difficult to relax fully.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly and helpful, I found the overall service lacking. The wait times for pool access and valet service were frustrating, and I was disappointed by the room service quality.
Location
9.0
The hotel's proximity to Minute Maid Park is fantastic, making it easy to enjoy events in the area. Plus, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance, enhancing the location's appeal.
Dining
6.0
I had high hopes for the dining options, especially at Xochi, which delivered delicious meals. However, I was disappointed by certain menu limitations and the quality of room service.
Facilities

The pool area, while beautifully designed, felt overcrowded and lacked sufficient seating. The Texas-shaped lazy river was a highlight, but the overall poolside service left much to be desired.

My stay at Marriott Marquis Houston had its highlights, especially the impressive pool and the clean, spacious suite. However, several service issues, like a late check-in and inadequate kitchen staffing, hampered the experience. The M Lounge was a nice touch, but inconsistent service at the pool made it less enjoyable.
Rooms
8.0
The executive suite I stayed in was truly impressive with corner views and plenty of space, ideal for a family.
Service
6.0
While the staff seemed friendly and eager to help, the service fell short with delays in room readiness and unmet requests for bedding.
Location
9.0
Located conveniently in downtown Houston, the hotel was close to attractions and offered beautiful views, making it a great spot for visiting the area.
Dining

The M Lounge provided a better-than-average breakfast, but I was disappointed by limited menu choices and some service inconsistencies in other dining areas.
Facilities

The pool area was a prominent feature, though it became crowded quickly. Overall, the facilities were attractive and well-maintained.

My stay at the Marriott Marquis Houston was mostly enjoyable, with really good service and a beautiful pool area being key highlights. However, I found the pool to be overcrowded and the dining options at times lacking in quality. Overall, the hotel is lovely and well-maintained, making it a solid choice for both business and leisure.
Rooms
8.0
My room was clean and comfortable, equipped with upscale amenities. I particularly appreciated the large-screen TV and plush bedding that provided a great night's sleep. However, I would recommend asking for a room above the 6th floor for better privacy from the pool area.
Service
10.0
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. From Juliana assisting us with a room change for our anniversary to Tommy arranging a complimentary snack, every interaction was pleasant. Horace stood out with his warm welcome and engaging conversation, making me feel special during my stay.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is fantastic. It's just a short walk to local attractions like Minute Maid Park, making it convenient for exploring downtown Houston. However, the nearby pool scene can get crowded, especially with non-guests accessing the area.
Dining
7.0
While I had some great experiences, like enjoying cocktails at the poolside, I was disappointed with the breakfast buffet pricing. The quality didn't match the high expectations set by the hotel's reputation. Still, Xochi's dinner service was good, and I appreciated having multiple dining options on-site.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was a highlight with the fun Texas-shaped lazy river and attentive service. However, I struggled to find available chairs and faced inconveniences with food quality and service during peak times. The fitness center was well-equipped, which added to my stay.

My stay at the Marriott Marquis Houston had its ups and downs. The room was spacious and offered stunning corner views, but the service fell short in several areas. The pool area was a highlight, especially the lazy river, though there were times when it was difficult to find loungers due to high demand. Overall, while the facilities were impressive, the inconsistent service left me feeling disappointed.
Rooms

I was impressed with the size and design of our executive suite. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the bathroom offered striking views, and there were plenty of spaces for the family. However, I encountered some issues, such as the sofa bed not being made upon our arrival.
Service
5.0
The service was hit or miss. While I appreciated the friendly staff at the front desk and in the M Lounge, there were significant delays with our room and requests for bedding that went unfulfilled for too long. I felt that there was an overall lack of coordination.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, within easy reach of downtown attractions. However, when it came to finding family-friendly dining options, I sensed that the hotel catered more to business travelers than to families looking for a relaxing stay.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast in the M Lounge was better than average, which I appreciated, but I missed the convenience of in-room dining that was more child-friendly. The dining experience didn’t quite match my expectations for an upscale hotel.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was beautiful and well-maintained, featuring a fun lazy river which my children enjoyed. However, navigating the crowded pool deck during peak hours was frustrating due to limited lounging space.

My stay at Marriott Marquis Houston had its highs and lows. The beautiful pool area, especially the Texas-shaped lazy river, was a standout, and the staff were exceedingly friendly. However, I found the room service lacking, particularly for family needs, and the hotel’s primary focus on business travelers made it feel less accommodating for my family. Overall, while the service was stellar, the hotel didn't quite meet my expectations for a family-oriented experience.
Rooms
6.0
The rooms are spacious and clean but not as upscale as expected. My pillows felt quite thin, and I requested more but was told they were too busy to send any. The views were nice, but the decor felt somewhat dated for the price point.
Service
9.0
The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Special shoutout to Thomas, the pool bartender, who really stood out for his attentiveness and service mentality during our visit.
Location
7.0
Situated close to local attractions, the hotel is ideal for business travelers attending events at the convention center. However, it was less than ideal for families looking for a more relaxing getaway.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were available but not family-friendly. I found room service inconvenient, with meals served in paper bags, while the on-site restaurant, Walker Street Kitchen, offered a decent buffet breakfast for kids.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was beautiful but got crowded quickly. I also noticed that the cleaning staff was a bit rushed, which made the room cleaning a confusing experience.
